He has had a long association with independent filmmaker and former Cannon Group Chief Executive, Yoram Globus. In 1990, after now disgraced Italian financier Giancarlo Parretti and Pathe Communications took over Cannon in 1989, Pearce became CEO of the "ressurrected" Cannon Pictures Inc., following the resignation of Ovidio G. Assonitis. After Cannon Pictures came to an end in 1994, Pearce and Globus formed the short-lived Global Pictures Inc.
